As a former employee of the Ohio Historical Society I read this press release with much sadness. It would seem that with Ohio's Bicentennial that the powers that be in state government could not have picked a worse time to do such a thing. I would hope museum professionals in Ohio contact their elected officials about the folly of such actions. In closing I would like to state a personal opinion. This is the kind of subject matter I believe should be discussed more on this list, especially with it happening in so many institutions across the country. The personal attacks on people's opinions that have been on this list, etc. of late are not very professional or appropriate. This list would do well to study some of the guidelines for postings of other dist. lists such as the one for Conservation.
