Registrar Kresge Art Museum, the AAM-accredited art museum on the campus of Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, seeks an experienced registrar. The collection of 7,000 objects includes paintings, works on paper, photographs, sculpture and mixed media, from the ancient world to the contemporary. Ten changing exhibitions each year include loan shows and those generated and circulated by KAM. Part of MSU’s Capital Campaign, we expect to build a larger facility soon (see www.BAMatMSU.org.) The registrar is a key member of the staff of seven, oversees database management, incoming and outgoing loans, acquisitions, insurance, condition reporting, and the exhibition calendar. The registrar also is responsible for disaster preparedness and museum security, hiring and training student attendants. Applicants should have a Masters degree in art history, three to five years of progressively more responsible work with museum collections management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
