Listen up folks . . . I hate my low salary, too. But that's life. Complain to the people who can do something about it - like your supervisor, boss, Board of Directors/Governors, fundraising affiliate groups, etc. Nicholas . . . you're way off base, trying to convince us all to feel sad for the NFL players who get injured after three years on average and can no longer earn multi-million dollar salaries. Likewise, Deb, you're making it seem like teaching is slave labor and a cup of broth every day is the most teachers can eat . . . then can't take time to relieve the pressure in their bladders. It's not about who earns more or less. It's about opportunities, choices and skills (innate or learned). In the non-profit service sector complain about low salaries. It will be an eternal problem . . . so, no point complaining to deaf ears. If you don't like it, get out. Go back to school, rack up (more) debt, and become an actuarial or a doctor or lawyer. Or, skip the tradition professions and become a baseball player, a billiards player, or a Formula 1 race car driver. (After all, Michael Schumacher was the top paid athlete in the world in 2002 - with $40 million - not counting fees to be spokesman for all sorts of products/services.) Mind you, it's one in a million or billion hopefuls who becomes the Jordans and Schumachers and Woods of the "athletic world" . . . If teaching or museum work doesn't do it for you, leave the profession. If enough people leave, demand will increase to the point that salaries will increase to attract you back. <If you feel the need to vent frustrations, let the flaming against me begin. LOL!> Sincerely, Jay Heuman ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
