Hello, I am doing some research on space allocations in museums and I was wondering if I could tap into the knowledge of this list. I am looking to find some information on Museums in the US with annual visitor numbers of around 750,000 (give or take 100,000 or so). If you are from such an institution (or are familiar with one), would you be able to let me know the following: * How big is your building (in sq feet) * How does this break down into exhibit space, collections storage, non-exhibit public space and other behind-the-scenes? (Rough % guesstimates are fine!) * How do you feel this space allocation meets your scale of operation? (For example, is your exhibit space practically empty on most days, or do you struggle with overcrowding problems? Or is this only a problem on specific peak days? Is storage space completely inadequate or luxurious?) I would appreciate any information you can provide. If you wish your comments to be non-attributable to your organisation, please reply off list and let me know as such so I can respect your wishes. Many thanks, Ms Regan Forrest HALEY SHARPE DESIGN E [log in to unmask] W http://www.haleysharpe.com ___________________________ T +44(0)116 242 9018 F +44(0)116 251 9119 M +44(0) 7748 654 235 ___________________________ Haley Sharpe Design Limited 11-15 Guildhall Lane Leicester LE1 5FQ United Kingdom ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
