We can not make specific referrals but we do maintain (through our collections management staff) a listing of appraisers by geographic area and specialty. If I were you I'd call the museums, ask the receptionist for the names of the curators and collections manager and then send them your brochure and follow-up with a phone call. However, this year I decided to make it my full time profession. I have been receiving work but business could always be better. My question is this: How should I approach museums in my local area (the southern US) to let them know that I would like to receive referrals from them? Do museums refer appraisers? Should I send a letter or should I make a phone call? Advice from other appraisers and museum professonals would be appreciated. Thank you Christian Trabue www.geocities.com/trabueappraisal __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier.
