Dear List:

Over the last few years the Museum of Church History and Art has been collecting architectural elements from Church meeting houses as they are renovated.  Unfortunately, there has not been a policy in place to govern what elements are to be collected.  As a result was are left with dozens of bricks, lighting fixtures, windows, and moldings.  This collection has become to unwieldy to manage effectively.  I am hoping that a museum or historical society has had to address this problem in the past.  I have searched on-line and in list serve archives, and have not found any information.

Does any one have a policy/criteria they use to govern the collection of architectural elements from historic buildings?  If so, could you please contact me with that information.
