Calling for Promising Practice Award Entries! Just a reminder that applications for the 2003 MetLife Foundation and Association of Children's Museums Promising Practice Award must be postmarked by Monday, January 17, 2003! Now in its fifth year, the Promising Practice Award honors innovative programming and management practices among U.S. children's museums. The 2003 Award will honor practices that illustrate the ways in which children's museums foster the value of lifelong learning and use strategic partnerships to create a community of learners on behalf of children. Funded by the MetLife Foundation, the Promising Practice Award will recognize three museums with grants totaling $20,000. This year, for the first time, one of the cash awards will be designated for a "small" museum (defined as a museum with an annual operating budget of $500,000 or less). In addition, three museums will be chosen as "honorable mentions" and receive a complimentary registration to InterActivity 2004. All U.S. ACM museum members are encouraged to apply. There is no application fee and the application is straightforward and easy to complete.
