Seems that some private collector had it. The newspapers picked it up today. Yes, it would be great.
I wonder how much stuff is in museums that haven't been properly documented. We all can probably come up with instances and memories of artifacts that have slipped under the radar.
I wrote my Master's on the history of a Rev. War unit that was massacred nearby. In my first museum position I was in the attic of another site and found a box of stuff that had been put there by the archaeologist who did the dig. Seems he was going to turn these special items in and then decided to keep them. Years later, his wife told him to get out and clean his junk out the basement too. He put the looted items in a "friend's" museum's storage area. I am sure that very few others would have recognized the items for what they were and they would still be up there in the dark attic somewhere.

Subject: Box found possibly belonging to Jesus' brother, James.

On CNN it has been reported that archaeologists have found a small limestone box which may very well have belonged to James, the brother of Jesus of Nazereth. There is debate on the authenticity of the box,.......but on this box, the words "James, son of Joseph, and brother of Jesus" are inscribed. The bones of James weren't found with this box, but this box has been dated at his time. This could be a great discovery making another link with biblical history.

Sincerely,

Merri
