Evaluation: What, Why, and How

Museums and
informal learning settings are increasingly interested in measuring
program impact and effectiveness. Additionally, foundations,
government agencies, and other groups are likely to require
evaluation and more accountability now and in the future. We have
invited a group of experienced evaluation professionals, including a
museum education director, foundation representative, professional
evaluator, and nonprofit program manager to speak about their
evaluation experience and expertise. The panelists
include:

The panel will address assessment issues including:

After the panel, participants will break out into small roundtable
discussion groups led by the panelists. This is an opportunity to
hear from experienced evaluators and get answers to your
questions about planning and conducting an evaluation, or working
with outside consultants.
