I used between 300 dpi and 600 dpi depending on the size of the final
reproduction.  I have found in using an inkjet printer that the type of
paper makes as big a difference on color reproduction as changing
settings.  I was having a problem reproducing a brown color from the
original and switched from using an HP photographic paper to Epson.  I was
amazed at how much better the color reproduced on the different paper.  I
was able to come close to the original.
