Application of Collection Descriptions

The National Museums of Scotland
Pete Johnston, Interoperability Research Officer, UKOLN and Rachel
Perkins, Collection Level Description Officer, Department of Library and
Information Systems, The Natural History Museum, London will present an
introduction to collection-level description, including examples of the
use of collection-level description in some recent programmes and
projects. They will introduce some approaches to collection-level
description, and explore how CLD might be applied to the description of
