I'd recommend the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller, Alberta but I
haven't been to the museum in New Mexico. There is also a Dinosaur
Provincial Park (camping) associated with, but several hours drive away
from, the museum. Both the museum and the park offer activities like
hikes and digs. Time of year might determine whether your friend would
prefer New Mexico or Alberta :)
