POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Explorit Science Center- Davis, CA Program Administrative Assistant Description- This is a full-time, exempt position. Duties include extensive public contact over the phone and in person, handling reservations of on- and off- site educational programs and vacation classes, upkeep and maintenance of databases, general office work, and other duties as assigned. This is an entry-level position, ideal for those who wish to gain knowledge and experience in museum work. Qualifications include- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, knowledge of standard office procedures, ability to manage and maintain a variety of File Maker databases, and familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, and PageMaker, on a Macintosh platform. No educational requirements, but a BA or BS is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have the highest standards of organization, attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, and professional public contact. An ability to maintain order and calm in a fast-paced, highly distracting environment is essential. A solid foundation in general science knowledge is a plus.
