Tom, By far the best examples of vision statements, as well as guidelines on how best to form them, that I've seen come from the National Preservation Institute (www.npi.org), which covered this topic as part of a week-long course on Holistic Management of the Historic Site. I'd highly recommend it for anyone who has to deal with drafting museum policy--the binder of reference materials you cover throughout the course is worth the cost of the class! I refer to it frequently, and will be happy to xerox the relevant section on vision statements as well as the information on how they relate to mission statements. Good luck, Christian Carr duPont Scholar-in-Residence Department of Arts Management Sweet Briar College 434.381.6526-phone 434.381.6173-fax ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
