Hello,
The town in which our small historical society museum is located was designed, virtually entirely from the ground up, by Stewart Hartshorn, the man who patented the spring mechanism that makes roller window shades roll back up after you pull them down...well, all except for one stubborn (modern) one on one of our museum windows.
Because of that we have been given quite a few roller window shades with his company's labels on them, from a period covering many decades. The labels all seem to be astonishingly well-stuck to the wooden dowel that is at the core of the window shade -- and that is my problem. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can preserve -- or effectively display -- the labels that are all so well-adhered to and wrap around the dowels? I am at a loss as to how to figure out how to preserve the labels from the damaging effects of the wood.
    Thank you
Lynne
