Listserve subscribers, Last week a survey was distributed on the Museum L-listserve pertaining to Collections Management systems. I'm afraid my response was hasty and not fully thought out. I'd like to clarify my comments about the Collections Management system ARGUS from Questor Systems. First, I need to point out that the statement reflected my own personal experience, which only deals with a small portion of the ARGUS Collections Management system. I was not speaking for the Henry Ford Museum as a whole. Second, I did not realize that some of the difficulties I have experienced with the system were the result of network and hardware problems and not due to problems with the software itself. Third, I did not realize that problems I have experienced with large lists are currently being worked on by staff at the Henry Ford Museum and Questor. I was also not aware that the new Conservation module is now ready and installation on our system is being scheduled for the next upgrade. The posting to Museum-L was hasty on my part and reflects a momentary frustration rather than my full experience with ARGUS. It was not my intention to create any misconception about ARGUS software. Sometimes it's just too easy to push the "SEND" button. I am sorry for any confusion I might have caused with my earlier comments, Holly Hartlerode ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
