Guess I lucked out... I moved from Texas (who apparently requires state history in 7th grade) to California (who requires state history in 5th grade) right before I started 7th grade... so I got out of both... I have lived in both places almost my entire life, so I guess I got the history other places. Guess that is good news for a native Oklahoman. :) Jennessa Reed ----- Original Message ----- From: "Beth Tischler" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Sunday, April 21, 2002 4:58 PM Subject: Re: slight error > lori, > i am so sorry for the wrongful analogy! i meant no offense to Texans at > ALL!!! i was confused as to the aquisition of Texas-- i thought that > technically we helped Texas gain its independance in an understanding that it > would then join the union when it met the requirements, in effect taking > Texas by military force. > thanks for setting me straight, > proud New Jerseyan, > beth :) > ps i think pretty much all states require state history in middle school > (actually, we had it in 5th grade), and i'm pretty sure that whatever state > in which you spend your formative years is considered home to many people. > > ========================================================= > Important Subscriber Information: > > The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
