As many other people on the list will probably tell you, I'd recommend that you buy a copy of Beverly Serrell's Exhibit Labels An Interpretive Approach (AltaMira Press, 1996). Available from the American Association of Musuems (AAM) for $25 or so (that's the non-member price). Well worth reading, even if you've been writing labels for many years. I was wondering if some of you might recommend some publications and/or websites that would be useful in creating exhibit labels. We follow a pretty standardized format for our small-scale exhibits, but I'd like to do a little more research on the proper structure and content of labels. Things can always be improved! Thanks much!
