The Upstate History Alliance (UHA), located in Oneonta, New York is looking for a motivated individual for a paid summer internship. UHA is a non-profit, regional museum service organization which provides support, advice and training to historical societies, museums, historians and others interested in history in a 35 county area of upstate New York. He/she will conduct preliminary research at institutions throughout upstate NY on the history of protest in the 19th/20th centuries. These duties are associated with our collaborative Protest Project, which will ultimately result in a traveling exhibition, website, and programs. The intern will also be assisting with the Documentary Heritage Program, maintaining databases, arranging workshops, and other duties that help to strengthen archives in the region. The internship period is 12 weeks; 35 hours a week. Stipend is $10 an hour. Start date is flexible. The intern will be expected to be able to work independently. Travel will be involved and the intern must have their own car. Mileage will be reimbursed. Graduate students in history, museum or archival studies preferred; undergraduates will be considered.
