List Members: Your help, please. I need ideas, experiences good & bad, etc. (or sources) regarding how to fence or otherwise secure a 40 acre historic house property. It is located close to small city urban areas, and the chance for vandalism and theft seems high. The house is alarmed, but there are other buildings that are not, and there are things of value on the grounds. There is a live-in caretaker, but he works elsewhere at night and is may be sleeping days. This is a newly acquired property and the leadership has never before had to deal with this kind of property. They would love to hear about alternatives to chain link fencing (or ways to make chain link less obtrusive). Also, there is an idea that the property line along the road should not be fenced so as not to obscure the view of the house from the road. Is it any use to fence only 3 sides??? Any and all ideas about how YOU do it would be most appreciated.
