H-Public is affiliated with The National Council on Public History, founded in 1980, a rapidly growing organization that serves an expanding profession as well as diverse publics. Devoted to the promotion of public history both within the profession and among our assorted public audiences, NCPH provides the means for professional development and networking among practicing public historians, educating and advising students about careers in public history, and working to advance the cause, awareness, and appreciation of the use of history in daily life.
