I am happiest in Special Collections where I have to process/handle realia (objects) and manuscripts...all kinds of materials. I am sure it comes from the digging around in family scrapbooks, attics trying to find out what happened (nothing) before I was born. Everytime I get a new collection, that feeling always comes back.
And I remember everything. 
I was very relieved to learn in my studies, that some cultures had someone whose function was to 'remember'.
