WEEEE!!! I would love to have a mentor. I am four years out of a museum studies program, and I can't say that there are any mentors for me here locally. My boss is great but we are both busy doing our jobs. The regional chamber here in Youngstown is setting up a mentoring program for those in business, but I would like to learn more about management, budgets, finance, etc. from a museum person. I think that this list would be a great way to set up a mentoring program! If it weren't for my first mentor, I would have never considered museum studies in the first place! But now I crave more. I feel like now that I am an Assistant Director of a historical society and museum, that there are things that I must need to know, and that I do not know how to do now. I could use the advice. I love the idea and hope that other list members will agree that it is a great and unique idea.
