I'm not in our development department so I can't say what official policy is, but I can tell you what I've observed. Membership gets you free admission to the museum, discounts at the gift shops and cafe, and special members-only events. The various donation drives (they seem to be more than annual) get you a thank-you letter and your name in the annual report list of donors. There might be other benefits of which I'm unaware.
