Educators and managers are invited to attend the ASTC RAP "Developing
community partnerships to reflect both science learning and community
culture" hosted by the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, February 2 – 3,
2002.

Increasingly, science centers and museums are seeking to develop
collaborative projects with diverse groups in their communities, crossing
borders of race, ethnicity, language, and class. What do equitable
partnerships look like? What staff training is needed? How are differences
acknowledged and valued? How do we know how well we’re doing? Participants
will review community partnership models in the Denver area, discuss their
own community projects, and share resources.

Fee: ASTC member - $ 50 US; nonmember - $ 100 US. (Fee includes breakfast
both days, Saturday lunch, and materials.) Registration deadline is January
11. For more information, contact Jennifer Henderson, community liaison:
