Volunteer Coordinator Title?
Can anyone tell me the difference between the job
descriptions/titles of a museum's Volunteer Coordinator, Manager of Volunteer
Services, Director of Volunteer Services, etc.? I am the "Volunteer
Coordinator" for over 500 volunteers at a medium-sized historic house
museum. I am considered to be a member of the senior staff, and my duties
include running all aspects of the Volunteer Services Department (i.e. budget,
recruiting, daily management...). I am also involved in many large
institutional projects. The one thing I don't do is actually schedule the
volunteers. They seem to be consistently confused by my title vs. my
duties. Any information that you could provide on volunteer-based job
descriptions and titles would be extremely appreciated. Thank you in
advance for your time.
