Does anyone know of any online or published material that offers good
information about the preservation and conservation of jute weave wall
coverings? Any reports of buildings that have been through preservation
treatments that dealt with jute weave, anything would be helpful. The
material probably dates to the 1930's but may be earlier, it is painted over
with lead based paint and also has a hand decorated floral design painted
over the base coat. The jute seems to be nailed onto a tongue and groove
wall. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
