We just curated a traveling exhibit in a mobile gallery and used plexiglass extensively. All of the paintings were protected behind plexi. In the past when we glued pieces of plexi together we used a specific type of glue which bonds the plexi together. We bought it at the plastic store where we purchased the plexi. For this current exhibit I recently asked the owner of the plastic shop how to best clean the plexi. He recommended a special cleaner he distributes called "brilliantine." When I asked him for other cleaning techniques in case we don't have this cleanser available he said mild soap and water using a 100% cotton cloth. NO alcohol or ammonia based products (like Windex) and no poly or rayon rags (they scratch) ONLY 100% cotton. I hope this helps, Shari Davis Creative Ways Hands-On Exhibits and Educational Resources [log in to unmask] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Barnes" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Sunday, September 09, 2001 5:19 PM Subject: Working with Plexiglass > Hello, list-members.
