The Beta test was "supposed" to go online last month .. in the San Diego region, with area schools and museums/zoos forming the participant/content dynamic duo. In essence, the "game" consists of daily trivia and treasure hunts .. taking the participant through both virtual and real worlds of art, history, science, etc .. prizes awarded to both individuals and teams .. a "here is MY museum" feature .. (participants can GRAB art+artifacts that they successfully "win" and display them in a virtual museum of their own creation .. which provides an e-mail announcement feature so they can "tell their friends" .. i.e. viral marketing) It's being pitched to corporate sponsors at the moment (perhaps .. not strenuously enough, however. Sigh) So many differant and interesting .. and potentially effective ways to develope interactives for museums in this "brave new world".
