I just read this on a newsletter I receive and have no more information than I'm posting here: Federal funds available The National Endowment for the Arts has announced guidelines for the Folk & Traditional Arts Infrastructure Initiative (http://www.nea.gov/guide/Folk02/Folkindex.html). This initiative is designed to strengthen the state and regional infrastructure of support for folk and traditional arts. Priority will be given to those projects with: 1) the greatest impact in expanding or strengthening a state or region's support infrastructure for folk and traditional arts, and 2) the potential for long-term artistic impact. For fiscal year 2002, the Folk & Traditional Arts Infrastructure Initiative will support up to twelve start-up folk arts positions at local arts agencies and community-based cultural organizations. Priority will be given to professional folk arts positions that address the needs of previously underserved geographic or cultural communities.
