The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is seeking applicants for the position of curator. Responsibilities include supervision of collections care, planning/implementing the permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions, research and historical interpretation of the collection, promotion of this history to a general public that includes staff, volunteers, visitors, and the surrounding community. Must be self- motivated, able to work as part of a creative team, organized, and an original thinker with an enthusiastic willingness to regularly interact with school groups, museum members, the board of directors, and the public. The successful candidate will be a resourceful and experienced researcher with a thorough knowledge of Western U.S. history. Familiarities with computers, art history, grant writing, exhibit design, and educational programs helpful. Graduate degree (in history, museum studies, or related field) and two years curatorial experience required.
