The AAMD (Association of Art Museum Directors) publishes a salary survey for
museum professionals that breaks the numbers down by region, population size,
annual operating budgets, highest- lowest- median salaries, etc.  It's a
quite good reference.  You might want to contact the AAMD for a copy -- I'm
sorry I don't have their address, numbers handy.
