Hi. This posting is about Museum Bus trips. If your museum conducts these trips, could you respond to the following questions? 1. To whom do you target these programs? Senior Citizens? Families? 2. Are these trips viewed as a membership program or an educational program? Which department in the museum oversees these programs? 3. Do you require that these trips address some aspect of your museum mission or collection? Or can bus tours go to any place that might be of interest to participants? 4. Do you host a pre-visit event at the museum a few days before the trip to introduce participants to what will be covered on the trip? 5. How long has your museum been conducting bus tours? Have you noticed a decrease in participants in recent years? If yes, what do you attribute this decrease to? Your thoughts on this topic are highly appreciated.
