Building Maintenance Superintendent. The new 175,000 sf Bob Bullock
Texas State History Museum, opening in April 2001, will include an IMAX®
Theatre, Special Effects and Storytelling Theaters, Café, Store, Temporary
Exhibit Gallery (7,000sf), and 34,000 sf of media, interactive, immersive and
traditional exhibit experiences. Under the direction of the Director of
Finance and Operations, this position performs advanced work in overseeing the
start-up and ongoing condition, maintenance and repair of the public facility
and physical plant of Museum according to the highest museum standards. Work
involves hands-on management of the museums' plant operation, maintenance,
repair and housekeeping programs. Works closely with all museum
departments and museum management. Required Qualifications:
Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent. At least 5 years
supervisory experience in construction and maintenance work. Experience
developing contracts and monitoring performance and compliance with contract
specifications. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals,
warranty documents and financial reports. Demonstrated experience in
responding to the operational needs of a public facility. Ability to effectively
