The Smithsonian Institution, National Air and Space Museum has two vacancies for public affairs specialists. The federal position is GS-9/11, salary range $35,310-$55,541. The non-federal position is IS-7/9/11, salary range $28,866-$55,541. Both have promotion potential to the 11 if filled at a lower grade. Candidate must have skill in writing innovative materials to stimulate media and public interest in programs or events; and skill in dealing with members of the print and electronic media. Additionally, skill in editing a wide range of publications; skill in planning and organizing publicity campaigns or events for a diverse public; and knowledge of the processes for production of brochures and flyers, to include layout, design, printing, and budgeting are a plus.
