Dear Harry and All: > Does anyone know of a heritage discussion list that specifically > addresses new museum construction projects (new museums, new > galleries, new major exhibitions)? it seems to me there is a > need for the interchange of ideas and experience on new construction. ------------------------------------------------------------- I believe there is a need for an interchange of ideas and experience on Museum Planning and new construction - however I also believe that these discussions should be held on a general museum discussion list such as this one for two reasons: 1. the discussions will be archived and available to a larger group of individuals 2. the museum professionals on this list need to be informed of the subject matter within these types of discussions because these professionals stand a good chance of providing input to the planning of a new or renovated museum project at sometime in their careers. In other words - planning and new construction is everyone's business! ----------------------- I am personally involved as a consultant in three projects, with two more coming up quickly, which involve new construction and I dearly wish there were some forum in which I could exchange problems and solutions with others. ----------------------------------------------------------------- I too am a consultant personally involved in planning new museum projects - serving on Value Methodology Studies for such projects - and would look forward to discussing problems and solutions with you and other people involved in these types of museological projects on this Museum-L. Kind Regards Roger Wulff PS: I still like the ketchup and dinosaur quote better! ********************************************* Visit our NEW "ONLINE" MUSEUM BOOKSTORE AND TREAT YOURSELF TO A BOOK - VISIT OUR NEW "ONLINE" INTERNATIONAL CRAFT SHOP AND ASSIST THE CULTURES WHICH PRODUCED THOSE OBJECTS at: http://www.MuseumServicesIntl.org Museum Services International is a non-profit organization which provides services in all areas of the planning and development of cultural institutions and museums - especially in the new area of "Economuseology." ********************************************** ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
