Exhibits Planning Assistant. The Bob Bullock Texas State
History Museum, opening in April 2001, is a new, non-collecting institution
focusing on "The Story of Texas." Position supports a major exhibition program
with high visibility and intense visitor utilization demands. As a
member of the exhibit development team, the planner participates in initiating
exhibit/storyline ideas, conducts initial research, assists in forming historian
content teams and advisory groups, develops and organizes content into
innovative exhibit components which address the variety of learning styles for
the museum's diverse audience. Responsibilities include on-going
coordination with the artifact loan program; temporary exhibit planning,
concept development, scheduling, and implementation; participation as a team
member in public programming; and working with content historians and
advisors. Required: B.A. in Museum Studies, History,
American Studies, Industrial Design or closely related field. Five years
experience in exhibit content planning development, specifically including one
year's experience interpreting historical or cultural resources. A
Master's degree in the disciplines listed above may be substituted for one year
of experience. Demonstrated ability to create specialized text for a broad
range of media, including interpretive displays, articles, brochures,
multimedia, proposals, plans, reports and other materials. Demonstrated
ability to combine principals of object-based learning with written
communication and 3-dimensional conceptualization to create exciting and
educational visitor experiences. Experience working with guest
curators/content specialists and academic advisors in exhibit conceptualization,

Director of Theaters. The Bob Bullock Texas State
History Museum, opening in April 2001, is a new, non-collecting institution
focusing on "The Story of Texas." Position is responsible for initial planning,
pre-opening preparation and day-to-day operations of the IMAX® and Texas Spirit
Theaters to ensure delivery of superior quality theater and guest service
experiences for those venues at the Museum. Supervises projectionists,
technicians and ushers for the theaters. Required: B.A. in
Business, Marketing, Theater Arts, or related area with three years successful
experience in large-format film theater management in a museum or other related
non-profit organization. Familiarity with traditional theater technology,
lighting and stage hardware. Strong computer skills and working
knowledge of audiovisual systems. Knowledge of automated ticketing
software. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good organizational skills, self-motivated; Demonstrated ability to
establish and maintain effective internal and external working
relationships. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet
deadlines and, to work well with others in a team situation. Position will
