OPERATIONS COORDINATOR POSITION

JOB OVERVIEW
The Operations Coordinator will assume the responsibilities associated with day-to-day management of the 18th Street Arts Complex facility.  Additionally, he/she will supervise the bookkeeper and manage 18th Streetıs office systems. This position is 25 hours per week with flexible hours.

DUTIES
Working with Co-Director, Jan Williamson, the Operations Coordinator will oversee the organizationıs facility.  This includes oversight of one housekeeper and several building maintenance contractors.  Additionally, she/he will manage 18th Streetıs office systems and supervise the bookkeeper on monthly bill payment, invoicing, and tracking individual donor gifts.  The Operations Coordinator will be the primary contact for resident artists and visiting international artists regarding their maintenance concerns, lease agreements, and other non-programming, facility related issues.  The Operations Coordinator will also provide support to one Co-Director by scheduling Board meetings.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
 1.
Excellent writing and communication skills
  2.  Highly organized and detail oriented
 3.  Knowledge of basic bookkeeping systems
 4.  Previous experience with facility maintenance
5.  Leases or contract management preferred
6. Knowledge of non-profit organizations and an appreciation for the arts preferred

COMPUTER SKILLS
1. Proficient Macintosh computer skills including Word and Excel
2. Experience with Quickbooks Pro
3. Experience working with Act! desired

18th Street Arts Complex is a non-profit arts center, supporting artists and arts organizations dedicated to issues of community and diversity in contemporary society.  18th Street maintains four programs that reflect its mission as an incubator/learning center through the arts: a Residency Program for emerging Los Angeles artists, an International Artist-in-Residence Exchange Program, a Public Events and Presenting Program, and an Arts Education program for youths in our surrounding communities.  Our support services seek to enable emerging artists and arts organizations to reach their professional goals.  Housed in a complex of five buildings in Santa Monica, we've been the home base for some of the most experimental and innovative art being made in the United States today.
