Museumstuff webmaster responds:
http://www.globalmuseum.org offers a worldwide directory to museum
studies
programs. (Roger Smith's treasure-trove of museum related jobs
resources.)

And to dispel any rumours .. NO yours truly does NOT need more to do! I
have my hands full building the world's most comprehensive searchable
database of museum websites and related resources. ... the "people"
have
spoken .. they WANT to find museum websites ... Museumstuff.com helps
them
do so ... Although it's barely 6 months old .. my site has been featured
on
Yahoo, MSNBC.com, the New York Times, USA Today, etc etc .. so .. I must
be
doing SOMETHING right ;-)

To Adrienne and all,

The people have definitely spoken, so here it is. I digest Museum-L, so
hopefully no one else did the same thing. We also thank Roy and Roger
for giving us some place to go on the web for museum info. It is much
appreciated! = )

I searched for and found the following web sites myself (took a long,
long time!), but I glady offer them to any lister and any webmaster who
wants to publish them but doesn't have the time to do the search. This
is not an exhaustive list of ALL museum studies programs, but I searched
for the programs based on which programs were listed in Peterson's Guide
to Graduate Programs in the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences 2000,
Museum Studies section (pages 194-197).

Note: Some are museum studies programs and others are certificates of
museum studies. There are universities that have programs/certificates
in multiple departments, so there are schools with multiple web pages
listed. Some of the sites have lots of detailed info, some just mention
the certificate. Most, however, have contact info about the program on
the pages.

Also, don't forget to look in your respective fields for people who
aren't in "official" museum studies programs, but do the same type of
work. You'll notice I'm in a psych program, but I specialize in audience
research/visitor studies so it's a good fit. So, check the literature
for academic authors whose work you find interesting.
