Anyone investigating future educational possibilities should not overlook programs in "public history" as opposed to "museum studies." Public history programs provide students not only with coursework and hands on opportunities in museums, but also in the related fields of historical editing, archives administration, community history, oral history, etc., etc. History departments at Kent State University, New Mexico State University, and Murray State University all currently house public history programs. I've had several interns from their program, and they've all been good. I would like to do graduate study in History with Museum studies. I know NYU offers a program, but I heard there is another school in the Philadelphia area that does too. Does anyone know of any schools other than NYU that offers Museum studies? Also, any suggestions on getting employment in a museum now, while I work towards my MA? ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
