"June Brides: A Wedding Attire Exhibit"
    The Charleston Museum will host a special exhibit of wedding gowns and accessories from the early 19th century to the mid-20th century.  Wedding dresses, vintage shoes, fans, men's wedding vests and suits from the Museum's own collection will be on exhibit from June 16-18,
2000.  Jan Hiester, Curator of Textiles for The Charleston Museum, serves as curator for "June Brides."
    Beth McLaughlin, associate textile conservator for the Biltmore House, Asheville, NC, will give a lecture and slide preservation on the preservation of contemporary and heirloom garments on Thursday, June 15 at 7:00 p.m at The Charleston Museum.  The exhibit opening reception
will follow.
    The "June Brides" exhibit is sponsored in part by the Costume Society of America.
