Ring a-round the rosies,
A pocket full of posies,
Ashes! Ashes!
We all fall down!

Nursery Rhymes, to me are more tragic than most kid's tv.

The above refers to the plague in England, and nothing to do with Mary, Queen
of Scots.

Ring a-round the rosies,
The plague caused red sores around which was as red ring.
A pocket full of posies,
Posies were thought to ward off the plague
Ashes! Ashes!
The burning of the buildings and bodies to get rid of the plague.
We all fall down!
We die!
