Please excuse the cross-listings. The regular Roundtable on Traveling Exhibitions will be held at the AAM meeting in Baltimore on Tuesday, May 16. The session will be from 5:30 – 7:00 pm, probably in the Schaefer Room of the Omni Inner Harbor Hotel. “The Traveling Exhibitions Roundtable is an annual exchange of information about new exhibitions, those currently on tour, and those in the planning stage. It is a networking opportunity for producers and recipients plus a forum for discussion of issues and trends in the traveling exhibitions business. Participants include both museums and commercial producers. The Roundtable also is an opportunity for the exchange of promotional and descriptive materials. It is a facilitated discussion; all attendees are encouraged to participate.” I recommend that participants bring 50-60 copies of any materials to be distributed; there will be display tables in the meeting room. If you cannot attend, but wish to have materials available, please express mail them to me at the Holiday Inn Inner Harbor, 301 W. Lombard St., Baltimore, MD 21201, 410/685-3500. Please mark the package “Hold for AAM Meeting.” The information provided at the Roundtable will be incorporated into Informal Learning Experiences’ Traveling Exhibition Database and Report. This database is organized by eight categories: Anthropology, Art and Science, Children, Environment and Ecology, History, Natural History, Science, and Exhibitions and Exhibit Elements for Sale. Further information about the Roundtable, the Database and the Report may be obtained from Informal Learning Experiences at 202/362-5823, [log in to unmask], and www.informallearning.com.
