I was restraining myself from entering this discussion but I think I have some insight: My sister contracted lice when she was younger froma classmate. The doctor who recommended a lice treatment also told my mom that she would have to wash all the sheets, carpets, clothes, etc. in the house from everyone because lice can spread like wildfire. It can definitely be transmitted through clothes and hats (there is a difference between head lice--which most children get from camp, etc. and body lice). I'm not sure of the over-the-counter sprays that are supposed to prevent it (mentioned in an email on the list) but i agree with John, I wouldn't want to chance kids getting lice and I also don't think I would want the risk of many angry mothers calling the museum and letting everyone know just where her child got lice. But I would research products that supposedly kill lice, just to be extra sure. -Jessica Curci Institute of Contemporary Art Boston, MA ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
