I have loved this thread...reading everyone's stories really affirms what we all do for a living. As an adult, one of the best exhibitions that I ever saw was entitled "When Barbie Dated GI Joe." It was at the Strong Museum, in Rochester, NY. (a great place if you get to visit) The exhibition traced the history of these two beloved toys while questioning gender identity formation and how it relates to our childhood playthings. It was wonderfully curated, dealing with heady stuff while being funny and ironic. I still think about it when I'm talking to colleges about great museum experiences. -Shana O'Hara Aljira, a Center for Contemporary Art Newark, NJ ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
