It really doesn't matter how long or short a time a collection or exhibit is up there will always be people who "miss" it. We had a very large temporary exhibit (Women at War) up years ago, it was to be up for 2 years only and was extended for another year or two because of its size and popularity. It was always billed as a temporary exhibit, but wouldn't you know - more then 2 years after it came down we had people coming wanting to see it and wondering where it was. It is always a difficult balance between the preservation of collections, the exhibition of them and what the public wants to see..
