Glyn, Having just deaccessed several items from our collection just yesterday, I feel I can give you some input. At The Louisville Science Center, our deaccession policy requires that the collection department meet to agree upon the items suggested for deaccession; we fill out paperwork describing each item and the reason it is no longer wanted; the items are presented to the board exhibits and collections subcommittee who then vote on deaccessioning; and finally, the items are either destroyed or donated (we are not allowed to sell items and profit from our donations). Hope that helps, Amy Miller Collections Research Assistant The Louisville Science Center ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
