Dear Listers,

I am a student at the University of Denver doing a dual Master's in GIS and
anthropology. For one of my classes, I have an assignment to interview GIS
project managers. Since my capstone research involves the implementation of
GIS for a museum, I am particularly interested in contacting GIS project
managers working in the museum context. If this describes you and you don't
mind participating in a short interview administered by e-mail or over the
telephone, please contact me off-list at [log in to unmask] Thanks!

Charlotte Bell

Hi everyone

Out of panic and desperation, I thought I would turn to you all for some =
advice. I am currently looking for an entry level position, preferably =
in the curatorial/collections field. During the past 6 months I have =
been able to find more than 60 web pages that list museum related jobs =
in North America, so I've not been slack. I volunteer in two places =
(with a conservator and at the provincial museum in collections), I'm =
working on an extra Diploma in heritage resource Management, I've got my =
Hons. BA and I was able to complete one year of my MA (unfortunately, I =
was not able to continue for the moment due to finances but I do hope to =
complete eventually). My question is, is there anything else i can do =
that I've not already thought about? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks=20

It's late and I might not sound as sympathetic as I should, but I know of
jobs that go wanting in the museum field, without applicants. They are NOT
chump jobs, so where are all the applications/resumes from folks I see on
this list looking for work? You have to send a resume to get a job. I know,
I know, many of you are porbably spending more in postage than you can
afford. I have been there, too.

There is a full time position, curator of collections, open at the Shaker
Museum and Library, 88 Shaker Road, Old Chatham New York 12136. I am sure
all the "usual" benefits and such.

It's in my region, so at the moment the only one I can send off information
for.

Good luck to all in job searches.

We're in search of a sample business plan for a prospective Children's
Museum. We need the sample more so than the specific numbers, ie assumptions.
 Any direction is appreciated.
