The Triton Museum of Art Art Educator Position Available ASAP The Triton Museum of Art exists both to embrace and expand the lives of the people of the Santa Clara County and the Greater Bay Area through a program of art, education and community involvement. Position Description The ArtReach program, established in 1981, provides long-term, hands-on art instruction in 37 schools and hospitals in Santa Clara County. Each ArtReach educator is assigned to a specific school, and therefore develops a strong relationship with the principal, faculty and students of that school. Responsibilities Develop, prepare and implement art lessons for elementary school students in the classroom based on the national and state visual arts frameworks. Lessons introduce students to a variety of media, techniques and cultures, while promoting visual literacy, creativity and personal expression. Qualifications BA in art, art history, art education or related field Minimum CA State Substitute Credential Required Solid teaching experience with K-5 grade levels Excellent verbal and written communication skills Working knowledge of child development Proficiency with curriculum and lesson planning Strong classroom management skills essential Schedule Varies according to contract with client-school. Monday-Friday, 18-25 hours/week.
