I would just like to express my thanks to the overwhelming response which I received to my query on conservation exhibitions which I had posted on the Museum-L list and the ConsDist List. I received over 38 pages of words and several kind colleagues sent my further information through snail-mail. It is very evident that there is tremendous enthusiasm and support for the idea - there was not even a single negative response. It seems that everyone loves a conservation exhibit! :)

It will take us some time to collate everything into a more compact form - and I will be sharing this with the AIC Staff whom I hope will keep the information updated on at least an annual basis. Anyone who is interested in this information please contact me off the list and I will make copies available when ready.

For those who have a deep interest in public outreach and awareness I would recommend that you acquire a copy of the "Preservation Awareness Study" which the NIC (now Heritage Preservation) had commissioned the Gallup Organization to do back in 1996.

Cheers!
Dave
